Die cat die

The cat has taken to licking the plug socket, so fingers crossed!! I might get the best Christmas present ever.

I've just finished the wrapping and christmas shopping but then realised I was two presents short, maybe three. It's just never ending. Unfortunately my money is..

Panto tomorrow with the Beavers. I don't think the 'special' one is coming so I think I can cope!

Well, the long weekend in Paris was lovely, although I might not recommend doing a coach trip again, the price was fab but I did feel a little but like I was on a special bus..

Anyway, the pics speak for themselves - Paris was beautiful - as were the crepes with chocolate sauce!

An actual news story..

Legal case against God thrown out
Thursday, October 16 03:44 pm

A judge has thrown out a case against God - as the Almighty doesn't have an official address and legal papers can't be served. Skip related content
Related photos / videos Legal case against God thrown out Nebraska State Senator Ernie Chambers filed the lawsuit last year seeking a permanent injunction against God who he said made terrorist threats against him and his Omaha constituents.

Additionally, he said God inspired fear and caused "widespread death, destruction and terrorisation of millions upon millions of the Earth's inhabitants".

The US politician said his case was over the fact that everyone should have access to the courts regardless of whether they have money or not.

However, Douglas County District Court Judge Marlon Polk ruled that under state law a plaintiff must have access to the defendant for a lawsuit to move forward - and this would be rather tricky under the circumstances.

Judge Polk said: "Given that this court finds that there can never be service effectuated on the named defendant this action will be dismissed with prejudice."

But Senator Chambers, a law school graduate, thinks he's found a hole in the judge's ruling.

He said: "The court itself acknowledges the existence of God. A consequence of that acknowledgement is a recognition of God's omniscience.

"Since God knows everything, God has notice of this lawsuit."

Senator Chambers, who has served a record 38 years in the Nebraska Legislature, has 30 days to decide whether to appeal.

Good Evening

Things I have done since I last blogged...

1. I have bought a hamster on the spur of the moment. She is called Cornelius and really cute, although slighty/extremely stupid and possibly blind - howeve that makes her funnier to watch.

2. Decorating and decorating the house - its never ending.

3. Written my Christmas cards and wrapped presents. Is that really wrong?

4. Planned the Halloween party - I can't wait!

And that has pretty much been my life for the last month. How sad it that! I need to get out more.

Day Out Decisions

Kirsten came home with a list today, typed up, no less, with suggestions of places she would like to visit on our day out on Sunday. Now, York or London I can see happening, however, Hogwarts or Never Never Land, maybe not. However, she put a lot of thought and time in to it so I guess I'll humour her.

still ill

Yay. Molly and Stacy read my blogs. I must be popular.

My throat is still sore, very sore, and I now have a crappy cough, so poor Kirsten has heard me coughing, spluttering and whining for three whole days now.

However the planning for the Halloween party is going well, at least we've planned the alcohol and how to make it look more blood like. That's exciting.

Ah, bed is calling.

Halloween

After as prompt from Molly - the only person who missed my blogs apparently... I decided to start again.

We have just got back from Morrisons with a bag of magazines, chocolate, lucozade, vitamin c and cold and flu medicine. Yes - I am ill - and be prepared to hear a lot about it. I am a bad patient. And when my throat feels like it's been cut with razors, I can't speak too much, but I can still write. So this is probably going to be my outpouring. I am feeling a little bit bad as my housemate has been really good about my moaning, and now she's starting to come down with it too. So sorry Kirsten!

I've been planning the Halloween / Kirsten's birthday party. I need a good outfit so any suggestions would be appreciated. As you know I'm not so much of a fancy dress person so I'm going to really try this year. I am VERY excited about the chocolate.

Anyway, it's time for bed, early night tonight.

Sex Pest Seal

This news report is hillarious. Good old BBC. Poor Penguin.

'An Antarctic fur seal has been observed trying to have sex with a king penguin.

The South African-based scientists who witnessed the incident say it is the most unusual case of mammal mating behaviour yet known.

The incident, which lasted for 45 minutes and was caught on camera, is reported in the Journal of Ethology.

The bizarre event took place on a beach on Marion Island, a sub-Antarctic island that is home to both fur seals and king penguins.

Why the seal attempted to have sex with the penguin is unclear. But the scientists who photographed the event speculate that it was the behaviour of a frustrated, sexually inexperienced young male seal.

The 100kg seal first subdued the 15kg penguin by lying on it.

The penguin flapped its flippers and attempted to stand and escape - but to no avail.

The seal may have been frustrated in its attempts to find a partner

The seal then alternated between resting on the penguin, and thrusting its pelvis, trying to insert itself, unsuccessfully.

After 45 minutes the seal gave up, swam into the water and then completely ignored the bird it had just assaulted, the scientists report.'

RIP Boris the hamster

So we have some sad news on Sunday, Boris the hamster passed away. Altogether now, aww. So far the ground has been too frozen to bury him, so the funeral isn't taking place yet. Maybe tomorrow.

On a more positive note, we're thinking of getting a pig. Not a big one, but one we can keep in the house. A minature pig, if you will. I'm thinking that it will be fun, and give the cat a bit of competition and keep her in line.

Seriously, how cute is he.

My birthday night out

We had a fantastic meal out on Saturday for my pre-birthday celebrations. The highlight was the whole pub singing happy birthday to me at midnight. Turns out it was more embarrassing than I realised it would be...my cheeks are still burning! But thanks guys for doing that!
I had a slightly awkward coversation with someone who obviously knew who I was. He spent a good hour or so talking to me and I had NO idea who he was or how he knew me. It was painful. Only on the way home did I realise who he was. Turns out I used to drink with him every weekend in the pub when I was seventeen/eighteen! Maybe my memory is going with my old age...?
